EECE doctoral student, Safayet, received the Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department would like to congratulate Mr. S M Safayet.

With the support and recommendation of the Graduate Council Fellowships Committee, Mr. Safayet has been awarded a one-semester University of Louisiana at Lafayette Dissertation Completion Fellowship for the Spring 2024 Semester. This fellowship supports outstanding Ph.D. candidates in their final year of writing and defending their dissertation. It is intended to provide recipients with the opportunity to focus exclusively on writing and defending a dissertation of the highest quality—without the obligation of a teaching, research, or other assistantship assignment.

The Dissertation Completion Fellowship provides a semester stipend of $10,000 that will be paid in five equal monthly payments from January through May. Monthly stipends are direct deposited into your bank account on the last business day of each month. Included also with this award is a full tuition waiver for enrollment as a fulltime graduate student and waives mandatory student fees that are assessed with full-time enrollment.
