Living/Learning Communities

The College of Engineering is pleased to offer our first-year students a unifying experience through Living Learning Communities. Students share their journeys into college life as engineering majors as a unit based on their passion for the same academic interests.

Our 2014-2015 Engineering Living Learning Community, LLC, residents live in Bonin Hall. Along with the programming provided by Residence Hall Community Assistants (CA's) some of the special events and activities are faculty visits, department head visits, student organization meetings, facility tours of local industry (Frank's International, Begnaud, etc.), an Engineering LLC Banquet, and visits from the Engineering Deans. These events are only available for the Engineering LLC students are designed to give each person the chance to find out more about career options, available resources, and inspiration for becoming an engineer.

A great benefit of belonging to a Living Learning Community is the privilege of taking classes with other Engineering LLC students. The six classes are taken in the fall and spring semester. The classes taken together for the 2014-2015 academic year are UNIV 110, Design 121, and Biology 121 all taken during Fall 2014 semester.
