About Us

In the Department of Electrical Engineering, we pride ourselves on providing an outstanding education for our students in the core principles and practice of electrical and computer engineering. Here, you will learn professionalism, ethics, teamwork and leadership skills, and a keen sense of the global impact of technology. We continuously attain and maintain national eminence in scholarship and research in several areas in our field.

We are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org, which means we are endorsed to provide the highest quality engineering education.

Our students' and faculty projects and research focus on energy, robotics, and even electric fish.

We have approximately 250 students currently enrolled in the department and graduate approximately 25 undergraduate, 16 graduate, and 6 doctoral students every year. Our student-to-faculty ratio is 25:1, and our faculty and staff work to facilitate relevant research and development activities for economic and professional development. We offer an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering with concentrations in computer engineering and telecommunications, along with a master's program and an opportunity to specialize in electrical engineering through the College of Engineering's doctoral program.
